Unbelievable International Day!!

Where do I begin?  Our class was blessed beyond measure today by an amazing group of moms that dedicated their time, energy, and resources to make International Day a day that will not soon be forgotten!  From the parade at 8:15 this morning, to the African decorations, snacks, games and goody bags provided by our moms, all the way to the 2:10 chapel where we were honored to lead worship, I am confident that this was a special day for all!

To God be the Glory!!

Quadramas

Here is an example of a completed quadrama, the social studies project we will create in class in about 3 weeks.  Some examples of supplies that can be used are:  clay, figurines, leaves, twigs, play-doh, toothpicks, popsicle sticks, etc...

International Day is almost here!

We are getting ready for a very exciting day Friday!  Students should come to school dressed as someone from another country.  We will enjoy snacks and games that are customary in Africa.  Please join us for chapel at 2:10 p.m., where you can hear us recite John 3:16 in Afrikaans.   Our class will also lead worship for chapel, so we will be on stage for the three worship songs.  We would love to see you there!  Come worship along with us!

Special Guest

We were blessed to have a missionary named Katelynn come visit our class and share with us how the Lord is working in her life.  She will be on the mission field for next two years, fulfilling God's plan to go out and make disciples.  What an amazing witness to our class!

Announcements

Just a couple of reminders....
Picture Day is Monday, September 26th.  Don't forget to send in order forms and payment if you would like to purchase pictures.

International Day is Friday, September 30th.  Students are allowed to come dressed as someone from another country.  Please make sure to wear closed-toe shoes and stay within the school dress code.  We will quote John 3:16 in Afrikaans during chapel.

Bible study habit sheets are due Friday, September 30th.  I am proud at the number of students who have already turned this assignment in.  My prayer is that you are continuing to set aside that special devotion time with the Lord each day.

The deadline for the St. Augustine registration is November 17th.  You can find the link for registration on the CCA website under Elementary.

I am falling in love with your children!
Thank you for the opportunity to spend my days with them!

And the winners are.....

the Boynton family, Ramirez family, and Ramsaran family!

There were 243 kisses in the container.  We split them up 3 ways, so each family received 81 kisses to enjoy.  Congratulations to the winners!  Thank you again for a wonderful Back to School night.  I pray that you feel better equipped to help your child be successful this year.

Vocabulary is Here/Change on Test schedule

This weekend, each student should have their Sadlier-Oxford vocabulary book at home with them.  Our first test on Unit 1 words will be Wednesday, September 14th.  I have encouraged them to create vocabulary index cards (vocabulary word on one side, the definition on the other) on each of their words and turn them in before the test for an additional 5 points towards their final test grade.

Please check the test schedule for a change.  The Bible unit test that was scheduled for September 16th has been postponed until September 23rd.  The Bible verse test on Ephesians 2:8-10 has been moved forward to September 16th.  Sorry for the confusion.
